Executive Informatics

Grant Amount: $441,680.72
Recipient: Task Force for Global Health/Public Health Informatics Institute

Public health is dependent on information and data. Senior public health leaders must be able to leverage this information at its full capacity by understanding the available technological capabilities and assuring that agency staff possess the necessary competencies to gather, analyze, and use the information. If executives have expertise in applying informatics concepts, public health will be able to improve collaboration with primary care, enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and gain trust as a reliable information source for decision makers.

PHII is developing an online training program for executives that will help leaders within the field of public health stay on top of the constantly evolving technology related to public health informatics. The distance-based learning platform includes a series of webinars and podcasts, a toolbox, and a virtual community and will be adaptable to the leader’s needs and experiences.
