Strengthening the Epidemic Intelligence Service Alumni Association

Grant Amount: $62,400
Recipient: CDC Foundation

The Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) is a program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, designed to provide two years of postgraduate training and field work in epidemiology. Alumni from EIS go on to productive careers in public health, medicine, science, and policy. A stronger alumni association can engage stakeholders, ensure sustainability, and leverage existing resources that are used to sustain EIS’s role as a premier public health training program, and build a network to support alumni contributions to public health and attract new epidemiologists as well as allied members of the public health workforce. Through this grant, the de Beaumont Foundation is supporting the development of a new interactive EIS Alumni Association website and database, along with new activities to recognize and engage alumni in the development of the program.
