Business skills, such as budgeting and financial reporting, are absent from many health departments. In order to address this critical issue, the de Beaumont Foundation and the University of Miami are developing a program designed for public health professionals who are interested in learning business fundamentals.
The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and School of Business Administration are working in partnership with the de Beaumont Foundation to provide the BEAM (Building Expertise in Administration and Management) certificate program.
BEAM will offer professionals a 20-hour, non-credit bearing, online educational experience that will be designed to be interactive, case-study based, and highly relevant for adult learners. The program is designed to equip public health professionals with a critical set of skills that are in high demand.
Enrollment will start in October 2017.
